The 1851 Cup Regatta Starts Today

The 1851 Cup Regatta on the Solent has starts today and will continue trough to Friday. BMW ORACLE and TEAM ORIGIN will race against each other during these days in the V5 Cup sloop. Thursday will be the most significant day, as the two teams will be racing around the Isle of Wight, following the famous 53-nautical-mile course from 1851, which marked the start of this exciting legend. Racing will start near the Williams Shipping mark at 1600 on a 1.2-mile windward/leeward course.

Royal National Lifeboat Institution at COWES WEEK

Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) will volunteer at the 2010 Cowes Week both on water and off. Monday, being a charity day, RNLI will take the opportunity to showcase their life saving skills. The presentation will be held on the water just off The Green at 6.30pm.

Artemis Challenge: British sports stars sail for charity at Cowes Week

Sporting stars will join teams sailing in the Artemis Challenge at Cowes Week. The race, an annual IMOCA 60 sprint round the Isle of Wight attracts some of the biggest names in ocean racing, where teams competing for a generous £10,000 charity prize fund, donated by Artemis Investment Management.

2010 Pendennis Cup in Falmouth

The Pendennis Cup 2010 from the 9th – 14th August, in Falmouth have 7 yachts confirmed for sailing event. There will be an entertainment programme that will complement the 5 days of competitive racing out on the waters of Falmouth Bay – giving owners and crews a chance to enjoy a “proper Cornish experience” and allowing them to enjoy Falmouth and its beautiful surroundings.

Future Fibres support for RC44 Class continues

RC44 Class event held this week in the Americas Cup Port in Valencia continues to be supported by Future Fibres. Future Fibres are the official class supplier, having supplied 14 complete sets of rigging to the RC44 fleet.

CAMPER announces the start of the VO70 Yacht construction
