METS and Superyacht Pavilion (SYP) organiser Amsterdam RAI invites government approved marine related public charities to apply for the registration proceeds from the Design Award METS (DAME) competition.
Preparations are well underway for the 2011 Superyacht Cup regatta from 22-25 June in Palma. So far, 16 yachts have registered for the event including five brand new entries that have never competed in the event before. Space at the Muelle Viejo only allows for a maximum of 20-22 entries.

On the 22nd of February at 12.51pm, a shallow earthquake of 6.3 magnitude, rocked Christchurch, New Zealand, leaving the city devastated. With the need to help the many affected by the disaster apparent, the superyacht community in New Zealand rallied. On Thursday night in Auckland a fundraiser, organized by YachtAid Global and Superyacht Support Ltd saw around $55,000 raised for the cause.
Despite visitor numbers seeing less than previous years the Australian companies exhibiting at the Dubai International Boat Show last week were pleased with their results.
This year’s Yacht & Brokerage Show in Miami Beach, Miami’s premier in-water boat show, was a testament to the resilience of the yachting industry. The mile-long strip along Collins Avenue featured more than a billion dollars worth of new and brokerage yachts and the latest in marine accessories and electronics. According to many exhibitors, the show’s success exceeded expectations with qualified, eager and more relaxed buyers taking to the docks.
Under the banner of ‘new horizons’ the Marinas 2011 International Conference and Exhibition will bring the marina world to Melbourne for three days (20 – 22 June 2011). The event is conducted every two years by the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA). It is being held for the first time in Victoria, Australia.
