Superyachts built by four of the world’s top ten yacht builders according to the Global Order Book 2011, will feature in the line-up for next month’s Abu Dhabi Yacht Show 2011, the Middle East’s premier show for superyachts. Moonlight 54m and 46m motor yacht Jana are among the superyacht flotilla bound for Yas Marina.
The challenge was on in Antigua on January 28th, 29th and 30th 2011 when yachts in excess of 80 feet (LOA) were invited to participate in an exciting, friendly, new event to Antigua for 2011 – the Superyacht Challenge Antigua!
The Antibes Yacht Show, now in its 5th year, has announced MYBA (Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association) – a Worldwide Yachting Association as a partner. The Antibes Yacht Show runs from April 7 – 10th 2011, and is the biggest spring show to focus on brokerage, charter and for the first time this year on refit.
Riviera Syndication will launch its new Sydney/Gold Coast/Hamilton Island 5800 Sport Yacht at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. This boat to be based at Sanctuary Cove will spend 10 weeks each winter in Hamilton Island and 10 weeks each summer in Sydney.
With less than three weeks to go before racing commences in the 31st annual St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, the fleet continues to steadily grow, with nearly 150 yachts ranging from 24 feet to 115 feet now entered in the competition. A 2001 Nordhavn 46 called Egret last week became the seventh Nordhavn to circumnavigate the globe, and the first small production power boat to pass below the five Great Southern Ocean Capes. Owned and operated by Scott and Mary Flanders, yacht Egret arrived at the Canary Islands late in the evening on Thursday, February 10, 2011 – four years and five months after departing Gran Canaria bound for great adventure.
MDL Marinas has announced the arrival of a new weather expert to deliver the daily forecasts for all of its UK marinas. Dr. Simon Keeling – a self-confessed weather anorak since he was nine years old – has over 20 years experience in the weather industry and is an expert in forecasting for sailors around the UK. A regular columnist in the yachting press, Simon has previously presented weather forecasts on many TV networks, including BBC and GMTV.
SUPERYACHT Australia today announced it will be organising the first ever Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference immediately prior to the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
