Construction is nearing on the Hoek Designed 43.40m (142ft) sailing yacht Lionheart, the first of a new breed of aluminium J-Class yachts. Originally designed for the Ranger syndicate by Starling Burgess and Olin Stephens, Sailing Yacht Lionheart will be the largest J afloat when launched in July 2010. Lionheart is all aluminium, which is unusual for other Js, and her 17-metre (56 foot) overhang is making her a very special sailing yacht.
Oceanco has engaged Dirk de Jong to reinforce their Technical Sales Department. De Jong is no stranger to the company. He was a Project Manager with Oceanco from 1997-2001, during which time he oversaw the building of both the 62.6 meter Lady Lola and the 95 meter Al Mirqab (kna Indian Empress), which is, to date, the longest private yacht ever built in The Netherlands. Most recently De Jong was commercial and project development manager for Platinum Yachts in Dubai, UAE.
One of Benetti’s shipyards is in Viareggio where the vision series yachts are made such as Vica. Here there are offices and construction sheds for Azimut as well as two 65m building sheds for steel and aluminium megayachts and one 50m shed for Benetti Vision yacht construction.

The motor yacht’s hull has been specifically designed to be easily driven so that the superyacht requires low powered motorization. She has Solar panels which enable a zero issuing batteries recharge for propulsion. Also the Arcadia SOLAR Yacht incorporates water discharge treatment in order not to pollute.
Dorset-based Sunseeker Yachts has already invested more than GBP40 million into expanding its manufacturing facilities and product range to deliver yachts of up to 40 meters, and it has plans to extend to 50-meter yachts.
Holland Jachtbouw are delighted to announce the launch of a 42-metre, semi-displacement motor yacht Langam for repeat yacht owners. Designed and built to Lloyds and MCA, this project reaffirms the ability for Holland Jachtbouw to create bespoke powerboats of the highest calibre. The superyacht’s official name will be shortly unveiled at the Christening ceremony.
Superyacht PRETTY WOMAN 39 metre ocean-going motoryacht with a steel hull and aluminium alloy superstructure as launched by Hakvoort 2010. Pretty Woman – hull project YN 245 – will be ideal for chartering, offering fabulous accommodation for up to 10 guests.
Sailing yacht Zefira’s interior design details and interior designer are not known at this stage, although it could well have been created by Adam Lay Studio Limited which worked on the yacht SALPERTON IV. The yacht has a lower saloon with a studio and there is also a main deck pilot house. Zefira is a able to accommodate the yacht owner in and owner’s cabin and at least a further 6 guests in 3 guest cabins. The crew also have 3 cabins along with a captain’s cabin.

The owner of the uncompleted Dixon 120 yacht contacted Moonen due to the yard’s growing reputation in the refit market as well as its fine track record of building new superyachts. “Due to the status of the project at the time it was abandoned, the completion of the yacht is a delicate balance between a new build and a refit,” explains Moonen’s director operations Mark Vermeulen.
