Turkish builder Vicem currently have a Vulcan 35-meter tri-deck motor yacht in build at their new 25 million dollar yard in Tuzla, Turkey located an hour from Istanbul airport. The new Vicem 35m motor yacht measures 36.2 m (118′ 8″) in length and features Naval architecture by Mulder Design and interior design by Ken Freivokh.

M/V Chicago’s Leading Lady is styled after the 1920s luxury cruising yachts such as the former Presidential yacht “Sequoia.”

Balk Shipyard has started the comprehensive rebuild of the 36.40m explorer yacht Lars. Named after the Disney ice bear character, motor yacht Lars will take her owners on expeditions to the North Pole region starting with a maiden voyage from Spitsbergen to Nova Zembla in the spring of 2012. The project involves raising the superstructure and a wide range of other exterior and interior work.

A huge festival of international yachting and watersports has just been celebrated in Düsseldorf. The 250,500 visitors from over 60 countries, 10,300 more than in the previous year, were an assurance of satisfied exhibitors and an upbeat mood in the exhibition halls at boot Düsseldorf 2011, which ended on Sunday, 30 January. For nine whole days in 17 exhibition halls, 1,571 exhibitors from 61 countries premiered boats and exhibited new watersports gear, boat equipment and accessories at the world’s biggest yacht and watersports show.
Italy’s Tecnomar are to build a new 37m (121’5″) motor yacht called Project ‘Maxima’ that will take 20 months to build after a sales contract is signed. The new build Project ‘Maxima’ motor yacht by Tecnomar is expected to accommodate up to ten guests in five staterooms with various layout options available. Project Maxima is to be built to RINA class and is also expected to be MCA compliant.
