The majestic 2014 super yacht IN LOVE by Su Marine Yachts has been announced as one of the finalists for the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015, in the ‘Sailing Yacht Interior Design’ category.
The winner of the inaugural Superyacht UK Design competition has become David Rowles, a third year student from Coventry University. Sponsored by BMT Nigel Gee as well as Pendennis Shipyard, the competition is designed to raise the profile of the essential hand-drawing skill.
In recent months, Pendennis has seen two apprentice courses graduate, with 18 young people moving on to full time careers at the Falmouth superyacht shipyard. A new group of Surface Finishing Apprentices will begin their three-year course later this month. Two of the final year Apprentices were recognised for their hard work and high standard of training as they were selected as second and fourth place in the annual Worshipful Company of Shipwrights Queen’s Silver Medal.
