Last Friday, a charity barbecue was held at the Dock Bar of STP, destined for captains, crews, employees and workers of the companies that collaborate inside its facilities in yacht’s refit and maintenance.

This year, several Superyacht UK members have received the prestigious ISS Design & Leadership Award 2013. These include Pendennis, which has scooped the ISS prize in the ‘Best Refit’ category for the refit of luxury motor yacht A2.
Following this year’s America’s Cup in San Francisco, San Diego-based Marine Group Boat Works is seeing a historic number of superyachts in its facilities, as well as a sister marina, Fifth Avenue Landing.
Marine Group Boat Works from San Diego has been honoured with the 2nd annual Inc. Hire Power Award for 56 jobs, which the company generated from January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
The outstanding 1930’s classic gentleman’s mega yacht Shemara will boast a number of bespoke items, created by Fairlie craftsmen in the UK. Currently undergoing an extensive restoration programme, Shemara is due to be re-launched in 2014.
Monaco Marine in La Ciotat is enjoying a busy season with numerous yachts currently under refit at the yard and three superyacht already delivered since early September: Zita yacht, luxury yacht 360° and Kolaha superyacht.
Beautifully refitted by Pendennis in 2012, the 1983 Feadship superyacht A2 (ex Masquerade of Sole) has been honoured with the 2013 ISS Award in the ‘Best Refit Yacht’ category.
A total number of 16 members of the New Zealand Marine Export Group, including such important luxury yacht builders as Alloy Yachts, are currently present at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show 2013, which has officially kicked off today.
