Attended by 70 spectacular yachts last year, the 2012 Rolex Middle Sea Race will once again kick off on October 20, providing one week of exciting competing. Among the entries that have already confirmed their participation in this popular event belong the last year’s winner – 100ft maxi superyacht Esimit Europa 2 – as well as the 78ft Reichel/Pugh designed sailing yacht Idea and many others.
July 23 saw the first day of the inaugural Superyacht Cup Cowes, marked by challenging weather conditions. The overall winner on Day 1 has become the 34m luxury sailing yacht Unfurled, built by Royal Huisman.
Saturday 21 July saw the 2012 J Class Solent Regatta – Hundered Guinea Cup, attended by the spectacular J Class yachts. The overall winner has become sailing yacht Lionheart, followed by superyacht Velsheda, charter yacht Ranger and Rainbow superyacht, respectively.
The overall winner of this year’s J Class Regatta in the Solent has become the luxury sailing yacht Velsheda, followed by charter yacht Ranger, superyacht Lionheart and luxury yacht Rainbow, respectively.
Day 2 of the J Class Solent Regatta saw a very close racing of the J Class yachts. In the end, the overall winner has become superyacht Velsheda, winning by just 5 seconds, followed by Lionheart, Rainbow and Ranger, respectively.
The 50ft Indi Jones yacht tender for the 100ft Wally superyacht Indio has been successfully delivered by Rupert Marine. This splendid boat can reach an impressive speed range of 45 to 49 knots.
Following the recent J Class Regatta in Falmouth, the four luxury vessels participating in this popular race, comprising charter yacht Ranger, luxury yacht Lionheart, Rainbow superyacht as well as sailing yacht Velsheda now moved to the Solent, facing challenging weather conditions on the first day of racing. Charter yacht Ranger is currently taking the leading position.
Running from February 14 to 17, the dates for 2013 NZ Millennium Cup have been announced, with three entries already confirmed, including this year’s overall winner, the 34m Yachting Developments superyacht Silvertip, the 39.6m Alloy luxury yacht Janice of Wyoming, as well as the 31m Alloy charter yacht Pacific Eagle.
This year’s Pendennis Cup in Falmouth was concluded with the overall victory of the superyacht Mariette and Firebrand yacht, taking the leading positions in their classes. Firebrand is owned by the renowned yacht designer Ed Dubois, participating in the race.
This year’s Pendennis Cup officially ended on Saturday 7 July, with a spectacular ceremony, unveiling the overall winners. Class 2 has been won by superyacht Mariette, while Class 3 by sailing yacht Firebrand.
It was a great success for Ed Dubois, racing in this year’s Pendennis Cup aboard superyacht Firebrand. He won in his class, competing with such beautiful vessels as Mikado superyacht as well as sailing yacht Tomahawk.
Friday 24 August at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2012 will once again see the Prix d’Elegance event, with focus on pure entertainment and the only necessity to dress up the crew as well as the yacht. The last year’s winner in the ‘Best Presented Yacht’ category was the 30m luxury yacht Investec Loyal.
