Being attended by 53 luxury yachts, this year’s RORC Caribbean 600 yacht race has seen its start. A number of outstanding vessels, such as charter yacht ICAP Leopard as well as superyachts Athos and Adela, are also participating.
The NZ Millennium Cup has once again provided three days of fantastic racing, proving the fierce competitive spirit of the event. The overall victory went to superyacht Zefiro.
Superyacht Zefiro took the line honours in this year’s NZ Millennium Cup, following three exciting days of racing. The second place went to luxury yacht Silvertip, followed by Ohana yacht, Janice of Wyoming and Sea Toy, respectively.
To start on Monday, February 18, this year’s 5th edition of RORC Caribbean 600 yacht race will host a record breaking fleet, including the impressive charter yacht ICAP Leopard.
The second day of NZ Millennium Cup racing is over, and sailing yacht Ohana and Silvertip superyacht battled right to the line, finishing within seconds of each other. The ultimate winner of the day was Zefiro yacht.
Francis Joyon has smashed the Columbus Route record aboard his maxi trimaran yacht IDEC, reaching the finishing line off San Salvador in the Bahamas in 8 days, 16 hours, 07 minutes, 05 seconds.
The first day’s winner of this year’s NZ Millennium Cup has become the luxury sailing yacht Zefiro, built by the prestigious South African shipyard, Southern Wind.
Thrusday lunchtime saw Francis Joyon and his luxury trimaran yacht IDEC face the last 280 miles before crossing the finishing line in San Salvador. Francis’ attempt to smash his own record at the Columbus Route is due to finish this Friday.
The dramatically beautiful W.100′ superyacht concept is a modern classic sloop, currently in design for Newport-based W-Class Yachts. A sistership to W.123′ yacht, W.100 will be constructed by Front Street Shipyard in Belfast, Maine.
This afternoon will see Francis Joyon complete the sixth day of this attempt to improve on the Columbus Route record aboard his maxi trimaran yacht IDEC.
To be once again hosted by an enchanting Caribbean yacht charter destination – Antigua, the 2013 RORC Caribbean 600 race will start on Monday, February 18. There will be 50 luxury vessels competing in this year’s popular race, including nine yachts over 90 feet in LOA, such as the outstanding 203-foot mega yacht Athos.
