The first day of the 2013 Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous saw the victory of luxury charter yachts Salperton and Parsifal III.
Loro Piana is the title sponsor of the “Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous” for the second consecutive year. The 2013 edition will also see the all-new Loro Piana Superyacht Trophy, starting on March 25.
The eagerly awaited Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous 2013 will kick off tomorrow, to be attended by 20 sailing yachts and 7 motor yachts, hosted by the prominent Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in the popular Caribbean yacht charter destination – Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.
Thanks to the new initiative, developed by Igor Simčič, founder of the Esimit Europa project, and Vladimir Liubomirov, commodore of the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg, young and perspective Russian sailors will acquire new sailing knowledge.
Launched in 2012, the spectacular 50-metre Fitzroy yacht Ohana was racing for the first time at the last month’s NZ Millennium Cup. The yard is currently working on another magnificent sloop, the 37-metre yacht FY17, scheduled for launch later this year.
The Rolex Swan Cup Caribbean will commence today, on March 11, hosting an impressive fleet of Swan yachts. The largest luxury vessel to compete will be the 100-foot superyacht Varsovie.
Doyle Sails NZ sponsored the 2013 NZ Millennium Cup. The company’s team were racing on board the 50m superyacht Ohana as well as the 30m luxury yacht Zefiro.
The splendid 2001 superyacht Timoneer by Vitters has been announced as the latest luxury vessel to compete in this year’s Dubois Cup, running in Sardinia’s Porto Cervo from June 1 to 3.
