Alloy Yachts launch Sailing yacht Imagine II

On Tuesday the 15th of June, Alloy Yachts christened the 44.2m sailing yacht Imagine.

This is the second Dubois designed Imagine Alloy Yachts has created, having built the first Imagine back in 1993. The team of Dubois Naval Architects and Alloy Yachts, working with the owner has created a high performance, superyacht with the technical sailing attributes of a much smaller racing machine.

Motor yacht BAYOU has pulled into Denis Conner’s North cove port in New York City . She has a distinctive blue hull, and carries an Amphicar. Built in 1964, this Amphicar has won several car shows. She is part car and part boat. You can literally drive down the ramp, turn the propellers on and motor away!

Audi MedCup Day 1: Quantum Racing wins first TP52 race.

It was a day of sharply contrasting fortunes for past and present Audi MedCup Champions on the Rade Sud today as the Marseille Trophy opened with three races which proved a very different test to last month’s breezy curtain raiser in Cascais, Portugal. Iberdrola won the GP42 Series Practice Race.

Audi MedCup Marseille Trophy TP52 Series starts tomorrow.

The official practice race for the TP52 Series at the Marseille Trophy had to be cancelled today, falling foul of the stormy, wet conditions and the unsettled breezes. The forecast for tomorrow is more promising, when three races for the TP52 are planned with the first starts due at 13:30hrs while the five GP42’s are scheduled for their Practice Race.

Giralglia Rolex Cup 2nd Day: Line honours for Esimit Europa 2

With 19 knots of wind, the conditions were ideal for Esimit Europa 2 (EUR) on the team’s second day of racing during the inshore portion of the Giralglia Rolex Cup. The bright blue, 100 foot maxi flying the European flag is the largest yacht competing and towers over the fleet of 221 boats. The competition is strong as some of the best known professional sailing teams such as Jethou (GBR), Shockwave (NZL) and Container (GER) prepare for the Giraglia Rolex Cup which starts on Wednesday.

Hanse Yachts Launch The New Sailing Yacht Hanse 445 2010-2011 Model

The new Hanse 445: The designers of Judel-Vrolijk and our own developing department had to create a boat that offers more volume and comfort for the crew. As well they had to further optimise the easy handling of this 44 foot boat. The new Hanse 445 connects the model range of 320 to 400 with the bigger models 470, 545 and 630. The interior follows the trendy loft style layout of the Hanse 545 with modern yacht furniture design and optimizes the use of living space.

Jean-Pierre Dick introduces the JP54 revolution racing yacht.

The French sailor, Jean-Pierre Dick, has imagined a top-of-the-range fast cruising yacht whose design is unique. Designed by Guillaume Verdier and the interior designed by Stéphanie Marin, the first JP54 has just been launched in Auckland, New Zealand. Produced in a limited series by Absolute Dreamer, the JP54 takes its inspiration from the performances of racing boats to discover new horizons. The JP54 will be in France this summer.

New York Yacht Club Annual 2010 Rolex Sailing Regatta a Success

Known as the longest running regatta in America, the New York Yacht Club’s 156th Annual Regatta presented by Rolex also has the distinction of kicking off the sailing season in New England. This past weekend, June 11-13, over 1,000 sailors on 111 boats gathered from across the U.S. and Europe for three days of racing on Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound.

Giraglia Rolex Cup: Esimit Europa 2 takes Line honours.

The Yacht Club Italiano’s legendary committee boat, the Beppe Croce, had barely set the finish line when Esimit Europa 2 crossed over to take line honours in the first inshore race of the Giraglia Rolex Cup 2010.

Giraglia Rolex Cup: Day 1

It was a long wait, but the Giraglia Rolex Cup eventually got underway this afternoon at 15.28 CEST after a long wait for the wind to fill in. When it did come, the wind was piping at 20 knots, with gusts of 25 knots, and the Yacht Club Italiano/Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez race committee put on a short fast race of 9 nautical miles, which Esimit Europa 2 (EUR) had the audacity to complete in a few seconds under 40 minutes. The rest of the fleet was at sea for a little longer enjoying a brief, productive start to the inshore series. Winners today include Container (GER) in IMA, Near Miss (SUI) in IRC A, Nusantara (FRA) in IRC B and Keonda II (ITA) ORC B.
