Maxi Sailing yacht ICAP Leopard favourite for Cowes-Dinard-St Malo Race.

Mike Slade’s Farr 100 Maxi, ICAP Leopard, will be hot favourite for line honours for this weekend’s race to St. Malo and make no mistake; the world record breaking yacht will be attempting to break their own course record, set in 2008.

The next ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous Cruising Regatta dates: 14 – 19th of March 2011

The ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous is a cruising event which has been developed by Nautor’s Swan to allow Swan owners to participate in an exclusive Swan event during the Caribbean season. The 2011 event will again be held at the prestigious Bitter End Yacht Club and will see the fleet sail in the turquoise Caribbean waters to some of the stunning British Virgin Islands.

The Bill Tripp Design Sailing Superyacht Sarissa Hull is Launched by Green Marine

Sailing yacht Sarissa has been launched by Green Marine prior to her fit out and completion by Vitters. She is not due to be finished and delivered to her owner until 2011. Sailing superyacht Sarissa follows in the footsteps of Cindarella IV with a carbon composite hull built by Green Marine, a fit out by Vitters Shipyard and an interior designed by Rhoades Young.

Royal Southern Oyster Week will pit entries like Bill and Denise Cartlidge’s 1986 Oyster 46 against Jose Alvaro’s new Oyster 82, fresh out of the box. Oyster’s own handicapping system recognises that these boats like to race with all the creature comforts on board. With a mix of round the cans, passage and pursuit racing during the Week, everyone is in with a chance to win.

Racing Sailing Yacht SOPRA is a composite multi hull trimaran measuring 21 meters (68,9 ft) in length, with a beam of 18,4 m (60ft) which was designed by Marc Lombard and built and launched in 2002 by MAG and OCEA.

The J Class sailing yacht Lionheart incorporates two small separate deckhouses and cockpits – one of which is designed especially for the yacht’s owner and guests. This feature gives extra versatility for both racing or cruising the superyacht.

34th America’s Cup draft Protocol presented to team

In a joint initiative by the defender, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Yacht Club and the Challenger of Record, Italy’s Club Nautico di Roma, a draft of the Protocol rules for the 34th America’s Cup was sent to the challenging teams today.

Velux 5 Ocean Yacht Race 2010 / 2011 Sprint Start dates confirmed

The VELUX 5 OCEANS has announced the dates of the starts of the five ocean sprints in the 2010/11 edition of the race. The race will start and end in the French port of La Rochelle France, in between visiting Cape Town in South Africa, Wellington in New Zealand, Salvador in Brazil and Charleston in the USA.

Garcia Yachts joins Allures Yachting with Allures, Grand Large Services and Outreme

Garcia, the French based aluminium sailing yacht builder has now joined the Grand Large Yachting Group. This group already included the French yacht builders Allures and Outremer and now together with Grand Large Services Garcia completes the quartet.
