34th America’s Cup: Harold Bennett joins race management team

The New Zealander, who has been a race officer for the last four editions of the America’s Cup, will be the Director of On-Water Operations and Assistant Principal Race Officer. As the Principal Race Officer for the 33rd America’s Cup in Valencia, Bennett is also one of the few to have race management experience with giant multihulls.

America’s Cup: Yacht Club de France – the sixth challenger

There are now a total of seven confirmed and validated competitors for the 34th America’s Cup. The seven include ALEPH Equipe de France, Artemis Racing, Mascalzone Latino, ORACLE RACING, two undisclosed teams, and now the Yacht Club de France team. There will be an announcement on Wednesday, 9 February, in Paris to reveal details of the challenging team.

The latest Perini Navi sailing yacht SY 40 metre fast cruising cutter, C. 2180, hull was turned upright at the Perini Istanbul – Yildiz facility in Turkey. Designed by Perini Navi in collaboration with Ron Holland, this yacht is the first of the new Perini Navi fast cruising series that combines the typical characteristics of quality and comfort of a Perini Navi yachts, together with high performance in all wind conditions.

Boot Dusseldorf 2011 a Success

A huge festival of international yachting and watersports has just been celebrated in Düsseldorf. The 250,500 visitors from over 60 countries, 10,300 more than in the previous year, were an assurance of satisfied exhibitors and an upbeat mood in the exhibition halls at boot Düsseldorf 2011, which ended on Sunday, 30 January. For nine whole days in 17 exhibition halls, 1,571 exhibitors from 61 countries premiered boats and exhibited new watersports gear, boat equipment and accessories at the world’s biggest yacht and watersports show.

J Class Regatta Announced for Newport, June 2011
