Sailing Yacht Silver Lining is a 2011 launched vessel from the Thai Phithak Shipyard and Service (PSS). She is a wonderful 1998 designed yacht by Sparkman & Stephens.
With the big showdown done and dusted between the 100ft maxis ICAP Leopard and Rambler 100, it was a full 10 hours before the third yacht crossed the finish line of the RORC Caribbean 600 in Antigua. Peter Harrison’s magnificent 115 ketch, Sojana, produced a powerful performance, completing the course on Wednesday afternoon. Next home was Brian Benjamin’s stunning Carbon Ocean 82, Aegir.
George David’s maxi yacht, Rambler 100 crossed the finish line in Antigua in the early hours of Wednesday morning in an elapsed time of 1 day 16 hours 20 minutes and 2 seconds. Subject to official confirmation, Rambler 100 has broken the monohull race record set by race rival, Mike Slade’s ICAP Leopard, by nearly four hours.
Superyacht Regina, a 56m Gullet sailing yacht was launched on the 11th of February 2011 by Pruva Yachting of Turkey. Gullet Regina was constructed and completed in 24 months in Pruva Yachting’s shipyard, and is one of two such yachts currently under construction at the yard. S/Y REGINA will be available for luxury charters in both the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
On Saturday 16 April K&M Yachtbuilders, builder of aluminium custom-built sailing yachts, will be opening its doors to the public. From 10 am to 4 pm everyone will be welcome in Makkum to familiarise themselves with the shipyard and its work according to the ‘tried and tested formula’: various yachts under construction, several vessels ready for sailing and two speeches. All of the K&M “lines” will be represented: Bestevaer, Stadtship, Axonite and Bestewind.
Known locally as “The Big One”, Alloy Yachts today launched superyacht Vertigo. After 29 months of hard work by the team at Alloy Yachts, the 67.2m (220ft) Vertigo sailing yacht slipped into the waters at the base of the Alloy Yachts yard this morning.
With final venue bids under review, the America’s Cup Event Authority (ACEA) released the inaugural America’s Cup World Series (AC World Series) dates. The first half of the AC World Series will consist of five nine-day regattas in 2011, finishing up with three more regattas by mid-2012. The winning host cities for the 2011-2012 AC World Series will be revealed in the coming weeks.
As well as designing and contructing new yachts, Dutch builder Van Dam Nordia also carry out extensive refits to the highest Dutch standards. This month they have welcomed the 80ft Hoek Truly Classic Yacht Mulligan to thier yard. S/Y Mulligan is a classic sailing yacht built in 1996 designed by Andre Hoek.

A world record attempt, marine seminars and VIP packages are some of the plans announced for the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show at an official launch today. Sanctuary Cove General Manager Events and Marketing, Sue Thomson, confirmed a range of initiatives for the 23rd annual Show planned for Thursday, May 19 to Sunday, May 22 at Sanctuary Cove in Queensland, Australia.
