2011 ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous Programme

Nautor’s Swan is heralding the coming of Spring this year with the 8th annual edition of the highly popular cruising calendar event, ‘the ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous’. With nearly 100 participations for 2011 there will be a strong cruising contingent from the Swan fraternity congregating in the British Virgin Islands from March 14 – 19.

The Vitters 66m Sailing Yacht, Hull Number 3063

A 66 metre sailing superyacht, hull number 3063 splashed into the waters at the Vitters shipyard in Zwartsluis, The Netherlands, on Thursday 3rd March. This 66 metre super sloop is largest superyacht Vitters has launched to date and was designed by Dubois Naval Architects with interior design by Redman Whiteley Dixon.

Yachting in Malta –“The Way Forward” Superyacht Industry Seminar

The 33.9m Classic Sailing yacht Annagine has left for her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean after intensive and successful sea trials on the North Sea. Superyacht Annagine is a 34 metre (111 ft) sailing yacht designed by Dykstra & Partners Naval Architects and built by JOM in Holland.

Superyacht Cup Palma 2011: Palma De Mallorca gears up with new entries

Preparations are well underway for the 2011 Superyacht Cup regatta from 22-25 June in Palma. So far, 16 yachts have registered for the event including five brand new entries that have never competed in the event before. Space at the Muelle Viejo only allows for a maximum of 20-22 entries.

Pendennis Superyacht Christopher completes Sea Trials

The 46m Ron Holland ketch, Sailing yacht Christopher took to the waters of Falmouth Bay for her final sea trials in mid February. It was a stunning winter’s day as the yacht manoeuvred around the Carrick Roads and out into Falmouth Bay, the sunlit waves reflected beautifully on her dark blue hull. The four hour sail trials enabled the Pendennis team and Christopher crew to assess her rig in preparation for the St Barths Bucket Regatta.

Superyachts raise $55,000 for Christchurch Earthquake Appeal

On the 22nd of February at 12.51pm, a shallow earthquake of 6.3 magnitude, rocked Christchurch, New Zealand, leaving the city devastated. With the need to help the many affected by the disaster apparent, the superyacht community in New Zealand rallied. On Thursday night in Auckland a fundraiser, organized by YachtAid Global and Superyacht Support Ltd saw around $55,000 raised for the cause.
