Motor yacht Diamond A receives New Exhaust

Motor yacht Diamond A, a 57,30m (187′ 11″) superyacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 1998, suffered breathing problems. Her main stainless steel exhaust had corroded over time and her genset drystacks spilled soot. She needed help. Marine Exhaust Systems’ technical experts cured yacht Diamond A’s troubles with custom units that now have her breathing easy, in a crunch project of less than 6 weeks.

The 110m Explorer Motor Yacht Concept by J Kinder Yacht Design is a typical explorer superyacht concept. The main superstructure volume is located forward combined with large free deck areas at the aft. The immense deck spaces function exclusively for leisure and features a 12 metre long swimming pool. The helipad of the aft deck is functional, laid out for landing and take-off only. Neither the helicopter nor the tenders should interfere in the all-over appearance.

Singapore to introduce new licences for yachts 24m and over

The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) in Singapore will introduce a the Advanced Power Pleasure Craft Driving licence in the second half of 2011 for those operating yachts 24m and above. “The Advanced Power Pleasure Craft Driving Licence is in anticipation of future pleasure craft which could be larger,” an MPA spokesperson told MediaCorp.

Canados launched a new Canados 116’ motor yacht, a 35-metre planing yacht on Saturday, March 26th, 2011. The exterior design of the Canados 116 yacht was developed by the yards Technical Department, while the interior was designed by Salvagni Architetti, a Rome-based design studio. The latest Canados 116’ is destined for a European owner who will cruise through the Mediterranean in the coming season.

Feadship Koninklijke De Vries launched the 81m Motor Yacht AIR at their Aalsmeer shipyard in Holland on Saturday the 26th of March 2011. The 81-metre Air Yacht instantly becomes the largest Feadship available for charter in the world as well as being the largest yacht built by the De Vries Aalsmeer yard to date.

Largest Moonen extends to 42m – The Moonen 137 motor yacht

Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands has announced that its largest project to date, which was originally slated to be a Moonen 133 (133 feet in length), has been extended by a further four feet to become a Moonen 137. The fully customised 42 metre Moonen will now carry a submarine that is capable of seating three passengers instead of the originally specified two.
