Imtech Green Ship Energy Solutions event for the maritime industry

On 24th June, Imtech Marine & Offshore organised an event for the maritime industry at its premises in Rotterdam, dedicated to the theme Green Ship Energy Solutions. A number of expert speakers from the maritime industry elaborated on the regulations, trends and technological developments concerning Efficient and Green energy management, for example new means and ways to store energy, use new energy sources and in the end achieve efficient electrical networks on board. Payoff of the event being ‘Powered by Imtech – Green Energy Solutions’, Imtech Marine & Offshore presented its vision: zero-emission ships.

The International SeaKeepers Society respond to the Gulf oil spill

In response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill crisis in the Gulf of Mexico, the not-for-profit International SeaKeepers Society, in cooperation with their commercial partner YSI, Inc. and the University of South Florida, a member institution of the Florida Institute of Oceanography, has adapted a C3 Hydrocarbon sensor from Turner Designs to integrate into its proprietary SeaKeeper 1000 oceanographic and atmospheric data acquisition system.

The Green Voyager Superyacht by Kingship – the first RINA’s Green Plus Class Motor Yacht over 50m

The Chinese shipyard called Kingship Yachts is soon to begin construction of the superyacht Green Voyager. The Kingship motor yacht Green Voyager will be the first yacht in the world under 50m which has been constructed to the rigid full RINA’s Green Plus Class certification standards. This low energy consumption, clean and compact, the construction of yacht Green Voyager is to begin next August 2010.
