The Brigantino S. Giorgio an historic Benetti Sailing Ship measures 51 metres and was built entirely in wood in 1921 at the Benetti shipyard in Viareggio. At the time, she was the largest brigantine on the Mediterranean. It is one of the largest sailing ships preserved inside of a museum.

Dutch superyacht builder Royal Huisman is currently building a 48.97m (160.66 ft) sailing yacht called The Spirit of Tradition Ketch (SoT). The sailing yacht features naval architecture and styling by Gerard Dykstra & Partners and interior design developed by the Rhoades Young Design office. The yacht offers strong design references to the early working sailors like the pilot cutter and the Brixham Trawler.

2011 Panerai British Classic Week in Cowes

The British Classic Yacht Club, with their event sponsor Panerai, have announced the dates for the 10th edition of the Club’s annual Cowes regatta for classic yachts of all sizes.
Renamed for 2011 as ‘Panerai British Classic Week’ next year’s regatta in Cowes will run from Sunday 17th July to Saturday 23rd July
