Demand for annual and short-term berthing at Yas Marina has shown a steady increase since C&N assumed operational management in July 2011, and this expansion is designed to meet that demand.

The new pontoons will be installed ahead of the Formula 1TM Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix™ on 4 November, and even with these additional berths, bookings to date suggest that the marina will once again be filled to capacity for the event.

James Beaver, Chief Operating Officer of Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, said, “This expansion reflects a nearly four-fold increase in the number of annual contracts over the past fifteen months, and the fact that we have been consistently over-subscribed for the period around the Grand Prix.

“Our design team have worked hard to maximise the use of the available water space,” he added, “and now 32 additional boat owners and their guests can enjoy all that Yas Marina has to offer – not just during the race weekend, but year round.”

Berths for yachts from 10m to 150m are still available for the F1TM period (29th October to 5th November), including some with trackside views. Guest and crew passes are included, along with access to the nightly post-race concerts.
