Teresa Francis, one of Westport Shipyard’s two interior designers, has recently received two awards at the Seattle Design Center’s 15th annual Northwest Design Awards gala. Ms. Francis took a first place award for a 130-foot superyacht Westport 130 as well as a second place award for a 112-foot motor yacht Westport 112. Both prizes were in the Exotic Retreats category.

According to a Seattle Design Center spokesman, the event recognizes projects in 14 categories by firms working in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Western Canada and Alaska. Through an anonymous process, a panel of West Coast industry experts evaluated the 120 entries on the basis of proportion, composition, use of space, materials and appropriateness of the design solution.
