The prestigious Italian luxury yacht builder Benetti has announced the delivery of the 63-metre superyacht METIS, boasting state-of-the-art interiors and intricate design. Built-in steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Metis was handed over to her German owner and repeat client to Yacht Moments with Kurt Lehmann representing the owner.

The yacht is characterised by carbon, policed steel and bleached oak with leather inserts. The interiors were created by Bannenberg and Rowell in collaboration with Birgit Otte Interior Atelier and can be described as modern and elegant. The exteriors of the yacht were designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta.

Some of the most important features of METIS include the expansive fly deck, with a custom gym, the ‘touch-and-go’ helipad and the huge 160+ square metre owner’s apartment with two double beds and a private deck area. The owner suite also features a private lounge with amazing 180-degree views thanks to the massive glazed surfaces. Another private lounge can be found in the babysitting cabin, which also has a private terrace overlooking the sea.

The exteriors by Giorgio M. Cassetta feature a striking longbow with a vertical straight edge, creating a timeless yacht with large volumes filled with state-of-the-art features and great attention to detail.

The interiors are the result of the collaboration between German studio Birgit Otte Interior, based in Wolfersdorf, and Bannenberg & Rowell, an English studio directed by Dickie Bannenberg and Simon Rowell. Dickie Bannenberg, who is thrilled with this project, commented: “Metis’ unique layout has freed us from what I call ‘the tyranny of alignment’, allowing us to unlock new corners and views of asymmetric designs. This approach, in particular, is reflected in the beach club, where the rooms are rotated by about 30° compared to traditional layouts and offer a new view over the sea through the transom and the side doors. The novelty of this particular rotation also characterizes the main salon and the upper deck salon, challenging conventional expectations and perceptions.”
