49m sailing yacht BLUENOSE II by Smith & Rhuland to be fitted with a new C12500 Capstan by Seaway Powell Marine

The 49m classic superyacht Bluenose II, launched by the Canadian builder Smith & Rhuland in 1963, will be fitted with a new C12500 Capstan developed by Seaway Powell Marine. This extraordinary vessel easily sleeps 12 guests, looked after a crew of 18 professionals.

Seaway Powell Marine are happy to announce that they have been involved in the restoration project of the 49m (161′) classic sailing yacht Bluenose II. This UK-based specialist in marine hydraulic equipment, deck gear, winches as well as capstans will be supplying a new C12500 Capstan with a bronze drum for the popular Canadian Bluenose II superyacht. This will be installed shortly and will be used for both mainsheet and mooring winch.

Launched by Smith & Rhuland in 1963, the 49m luxury yacht Bluenose II is an exceptional classic twin masted schooner, designed by William Roue & L Allen. She provides comfortable accommodation to 12 guests and an impressive crew of 18.

Smith & Rhuland superyacht Bluenose II is powered by twin Caterpillar diesel engines and can reach a stately top speed of approximately 11 knots. Coupled to her engines are twin screw propellers.
