Balk Shipyard has re-launched the 36.4m motor yacht Lars, which they have converted into a luxury vessel from a tug boat, initially built in 1995. Designed by Felix Buytendijk Yacht Design to have a range of 3500 nautical miles and fitted with a new CAT marine engine, the Lars superyacht is a stunning, ice-classed explorer vessel. M/Y LAR’s maiden voyage from Spitsbergen to Nova Zembla, will start in the Spring of 2012.

The luxury yacht Lars will easily sleep 8 guests in 4 lovely cabins, including a master stateroom and three guest cabins. She will be managed by a crew of 5. Her guests will also find dining area, fitness area, lounge and saloon on board. The Lars´ major transformation comprised swim platform as well as redesigned superstructure that shows off a new sundeck.
