Celebrity Cruises’ President & CEO Dan Hanrahan has activated the first cut of steel for Cruise Ship Celebrity Reflection the fifth in the five-ship Solstice class, at shipbuilder Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. The sleek Celebrity Reflection yacht will be able to accommodate up to 3,030-guests and will debut in the Fall of 2012.

There are 5 Solstice class of ships by Celebrity Cruises’ including Celebrity Reflection, Celebrity Silhouette, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Equinox.
Celebrity Reflection will present all the new venues, in addition to the line’s first AquaClass suites, expanding on Celebrity’s in-demand, spa-inspired AquaClass stateroom accommodations. The distinctive new experiences will join the diverse array of other modern venues and attributes already associated with Celebrity’s Solstice Class ships.
The Celebrity Reflection Cruise Ship will have all of the same venue and dining changes as the Celebrity Silhouette Cruise Ship. In addition, the Cruise Ship will have an additional deck of 72 cabins and suites including 34 new AquaSpa suites, 8 sky suites, 19 concierge class cabins, and 11 inside cabins. The AquaSuites will be the same size as the Sky Suites measuring 251 square feet, with a 57 square foot veranda. The deck will be added where the existing pool deck is now, with all of the decks above just moved up a level.
Adding a new deck is not easy. To balance the ship and provide more common areas to accommodate the additional 144 guests, the ships beam has been widened by almost a meter. The extra space over 17 decks adds 4 tons to the ship’s size, making the Celebrity Reflection 126,000 tons, compared to the 122,000 on the other four ships.
Adding the additional beam allows Celebrity Cruises’ to slightly expand some of the existing rooms such as the theatre which will boast 45 new seats and the dining venues. The larger outdoor decks will accommodate 245 more sun lounges.
