Ocean Safety has equipped the newly launched 100 ft (30.48 m) performance sailing yacht HAMILTON by Wally Yachts and Judel Vrolijk with a full inventory of safety equipment. The project management team of the WallyCento Hamilton superyacht, selected Ocean Safety to take advantage not just of the quality product range but also to profit from the company’s consultancy services to ensure that the vessel is properly and suitably equipped for the tiresome programme of fast ocean sailing as well as grand prix regattas that lie ahead.

The Wallycento superyacht Hamilton, carries Ocean Safety’s UltraLite liferaft as does the yacht’s tender. The Ultralite not only saves vital weight as part of the vital specification required by a serious racing yacht but is also low profile and housed in a carbon fibre casing. In addition, all the crew will be equipped with Ocean Safety’s Kru Sport Pro lifejackets, each of which is fitted with a Kannad R10 AIS Survivor Recovery System (SRS), a pocket sized unit which works by sending out a structured alert message and GPS position which will be picked up by AIS receivers on vessels within a four mile radius. Personal safety equipment has also been supplied for the delivery crew.

“While race crews are well known for only wearing a lifejacket in extreme situations, or where the rules demand it, the Ocean Safety Kru Sports Pro is so discreet to wear, with its light mesh waistcoat that we would like to hope that crews will forget they’ve got it on and wear it for longer periods”, comments Ocean Safety’s Mark Hart.

The 100ft (30.48m) luxury yacht Hamilton was built at Green Marine in the UK. The Wallycento 100 ft ‘box rule’ class combines high-tech racing performance with spacious and comfortable interiors. The vessel is based around a lightweight carbon composite hull.
